Foreword

Meta, too, fires safety researchers
Just days after OpenAI fired safety researchers for over-sharing with independent safety groups, Semafor reports that employees Meta had picked up in an acqui-hire from safety start-up Virtue four months ago are being let go over “clashing work styles.”
I don’t see any info on the number of employees involved, but it sounds like all the Virtue people, which would be at least the three co-founders named in coverage from the initial hire. Said coverage indicated an unspecified number of other employees had joined them.
Meta insists its Superintelligence Labs remains committed to AI safety.
